After reading the article, local video producer John Schneider saw a natural connection between this classic diner and classic rock 'n roll. On May 23rd, Schneider will bring "That Band," a well-known local rock group in the New Jersey Bayshore area, to Broad Street Diner to film a music video which highlights both the band and diner.

"Ever since discovering the Broad Street Diner," Schneider said, "I've been eating there and fantasizing about doing a music video. The atmosphere inside reminds me of the diners from the 1950s. It's a perfect location."

Nick and Maria Kallas of Old Bridge, NJ, are the owners of Broad Street Diner and look forward to opening their doors to a cast and crew which plans to "take over the joint" for more than eight hours.

"We've never had a band playing here because we're more focused on serving the best food possible," Nick Kallas said. "However, we always play recorded music from the Fifties or Sixties." The video will feature an original song, "RiverFlow," written and sung by Kevin Mulvaney.

Along with Mulvaney, other members of That Band -- Bruce Bentsen, Tim "Cozz" Paddock, Joe Gray and Paul Ende -- are enthused about the opportunity to play and plan to bring a selected group of their fans to be actors in the video. Regular customers to the Broad Street Diner are also invited to be part of the music video if space permits.
